Leicester City Women’s duo stay while six go

Leicester City midfielder Janice Cayman and defender Sophie Howard have signed new contracts while half-a-dozen players have departed the club.

Scotland international Howard has made more than 100 appearances for the Foxes, while Cayman is Belgium’s record all-time appearance maker.

Howard told LCFC.com: “I’m absolutely delighted to sign another year for Leicester City. For me, this is the place to be and I’m really looking forward to the time ahead with the team, the club and our fans.”

Cayman commented: “I am really excited about extending my contract with LCFC Women and that the team and I can continue our journey together.

“I enjoyed my first season in England last year and want to continue helping the team to achieve our goals in 2024/25.”

Captain Aileen Whelan has retired from the professional game, Demi Lambourne and Monique Robinson leave after loan spells at Crystal Palace and Burnley respectively.

Also leaving at the expiration of their contracts are; Aimee Palmer, Remy Siemsen and Josie Green.
