Leicester City Women have signed England youth international, Ella Rutherford, on loan from Bristol City for the remainder of the season.

Rutherford has been capped by England at U-15 level through to U-19s and made 19 appearancess for Bristol City last last season, before going out on loan to Crystal Palace this term.

Leicester City boss, Jonathan Morgan, told lcwfc.com: “It’s another fantastic signing for us. To bring someone in with Ella’s calibre is brilliant and again shows the outside world the ambition we have at this club to keep growing at an organic pace. What is clear to see with first Ash [Plumptre] and now Ella we clearly have a vision that is enticing players to choose us over our competitors. When we sat down with Ella and explained the project, we both knew that we had similar ideologies and ambition and that is what made this deal work. Even though it is just a loan move, we will obviously be monitoring Ella very carefully in the hope to persuade her to stay on a permanent basis. ”

Ruterord commented: “I am delighted to Join Leicester City and extremely motivated to play apart in the club’s journey and to help them progress further up the table to where they belong. The ambition here is clear to see and I can’t wait to get started.”
