Leicester City Women have bolstered their defensive numbers with the signing of experienced defender Anneka Nuttall from Crystal Palace.
The Foxes say she has made over 80 appearances at Tier 2 level, placing her in the top five for all time appearances at this level, experience that could prove vital to Jonathan Morgan’s youthful squad.
Speaking to LCWFC TV, Anneka Nuttall said: “I spoke to Jonathan a few times, It’s exciting. I needed a new chapter, a new challenge, and I decided Leicester would be the right place for me.
It’s a fantastic set-up and everyone is really involved. We want to do as well as we can as a team. I’m looking forward to working with Jonathan’s philosophy and his plans for the season.”
Leicester City Women Manager, Jonathan Morgan said: “We are a very young squad and we knew we needed to bring in some experience to help nurture the youth. Anneka brings a professional approach that will allow our youngsters to understand the sacrifices needed to succeed at this level.”
