Leicester City stormed to a 4-0 victory over Liverpool and got off the foot of the Barclays Women’s Super League table.

The Foxes made a great start, taking the lead on 15 minutes with Josie Green’s shot deflected past keeper Rachael Laws.

It wasn’t long before the advantage was doubled, Carrie Jones’ strike from outside the box going in off the underside of the bar.

Laws turned a close-range Remy Siemsen shot onto the post but just two minutes after the interval Leicester got their third, Ashleigh Plumptre heading in Courtney Nevin’s corner.

Liverpool were denied a consolation, Janina Leitzig tipping a Rhiannon Roberts header into the crossbar and turning Emma Koivisto’s shot round the post.

Missy Goodwin made it 4-0 with the last touch, heading home Nevin’s cross.
