Leggitt Looking Forward With Rotherham

Rotherham finished in the FAWPL Midlands Division 1 relegation places by a single point but are keen to kick on ahead of their summer recruitment drive, after establishing an official link with the Millers.

“Last season was all about getting the foundations of the club re-established and bridging the links between everyone involved with the club and ourselves,” he told www.themillers.co.uk.

“Everything has started to take shape and although there is still a lot of hard work to be done, there is a good base to work from.

“The support and backing we received from the club, especially Paul Warne, was a huge step in the right direction and it has given the ladies section a real buzz again.

“With the guidance of the club we are really excited for what the future holds and with a fresh set-up and new approach we are hoping that we can bring successes back to the Lady Millers.”

Meanwhile, club captain Bradie Wild admitted that whilst last season didn’t meet expectations, they are keen to look to the future as the talented, young players amongst their ranks continue to develop.

“Last seasons results were disappointing for us as a club but a lot of efforts have been put in behind the scenes to move us onto the next chapter,” she explained.

“We have an amazing squad with very talented youngsters progressing into the first team and there is a real family feel within the dressing room again.

“All of the girls are together and driving forward towards one goal. I fully expect us to push on next year and gain promotion back where we belong. This is a very exciting time to be playing for RULFC and we cannot wait to get back into pre-season and prepare for next year”.

Rotherham’s pre-season will commence on Tuesday 4th July with friendlies lined up to follow.
