Late winners for title-chasing Celtic and Rangers Women

Celtic and Rangers got late winners in the Park’s Motor Group Scottish Women’s Premier League at Partick Thistle and Hibernian respectively.

Dundee United 4-2 Motherwell
Glasgow City 3-0 Hearts
Glasgow Women 1-3 Hamilton Academical
Hibernian 0-1 Rangers
Partick Thistle 1-2 Celtic
Spartans 6-2 Aberdeen

Leaders Glasgow City remain five points clear after defeating Hearts with goals from Claire Walsh, Linda Motlhalo and Lauren Davidson, the visitors having Jennifer Smith sent-off when one goal behind.

Partick pegged Celtic back with Cara Henderson’s header but Caitlin Hayes won it in stoppage-time, heading home
a Chloe Craig free-kick for her second of the day.

Lizzie Arnot made the breakthrough for Rangers against Hibernian in the 84th minute.

Hamilton won at Glasgow Women with goals from Eilidh Austin, Lucy Sinclair, and Josephine Giard but remain at least two points short of escaping the relegation play-off place.

Dundee United defeated Motherwell to stay above the Accies, Robyn Smith, Jade McLaren, Danni McGinley and Neve Guthrie on target in the 4-2 result.

Becky Galbraith hit a hat-trick in contributing to Spartans 5-2 half-time lead over Aberdeen, to which they added one more in the second half.

Kilmarnock 4-0 East Fife
St Johnstone 2-3 Montrose
Stirling University 2-0 Queen’s Park

Gartcairn remain in the promotion play-off spot, four points clear with two games to play, Kilmarnock now third after relegating East Fife to the Championship. Stirling University will enter the relegation play-off.
