Going behind at Corinthian FC on 25 minutes to Leah Littlechild’s effort, Kent were quickly level when Jade Keogh finished off Emily Symonds pass.
Symonds was involved again 3 minutes later, as her knockdown fell to Grace Seeley who netted from close range.
The hosts would go on to build a 5-2 lead by the break, April Bowers setting up Keogh for her second before scoring herself from 20 yards, Symonds profiting from Jenny Newman driving run through the centre, before Herts hit back with a 30-yard looping effort by Cara Brekinridge.
The visitors could have further reduced the arrears after the restart but Katie Startup made a fine stop to keep out the penalty kick.
Into the last 15 minutes and Amy Russ crossed for Ellie Manning to head home and she later combined with Newman to play in Lydia Wills for the final goal in the 7-2 Fred Welham Cup win.
