Kent FA Women’s Representative Team came from behind to beat their Jersey counterparts 2-1 last night in a Southern Counties Cup tie at Rochester United FC.

A goalless first half saw Kent with the majority of possession but Jersey – making their competition debut – were looking dangerous on the break.

The visitors took the lead with a long range dipping effort from Anita Tavares but Vanisha Patel met Amy Russ’s corner to level the match, before Darcey Charlesworth hit the winning goal.

Sussex and the Royal Navy are the other teams who make up the South Group, with the winner of the four-team league to face the top team from the SCCC North Group in the final.
