Rangers FC have signed 29-year-old forward Katie Wilkinson from Barclays Women’s Championship side Southampton on a two-year deal.

Player’s Player of the Season and also top goalscorer last season, Wilkinson follows Laura Rafferty in joining Rangers from the Saints this summer.

Wilkinson told rangers.co.uk: “I am really excited; it is an absolutely massive club and they have made me feel so welcome since being here.

“I think the ambition is massive here; the club want to win things and that lines up very much with the values that I have.”

Head Coach, Jo Potter, continued: “I am delighted to welcome a player with the pedigree of Katie to the club.

“I was fortunate enough to work with her at Coventry, and her impressive goalscoring rate throughout her career is testament to her quality as a player and hunger to improve.

“I am excited to see what she will bring to the team in the coming years, and I look forward to working with her on the training pitch.”
