Jo Potter (36) has announced her retirement from football, the former England midfielder having been released by Reading in the summer.
Potter’s 35 appearances for the Lionesses included helping them to third place at the 2015 World Cup.
She played 44 times for Reading after joining the Royals when Notts County folded, while her other previous clubs include Birmingham City for whom she had three spells, the last of which was for 77 matches over the five years up to 2016.
The time has to come for every professional footballer to hang up their playing boots… After 21 years of senior football my time is now! Mentally ready for the next chapter of my life, whatever & wherever that may be 😁
Thank you to everyone who has been apart of my journey ❤️ pic.twitter.com/tNNjuc0ufg— Josanne Potter (@JoPotter8) January 6, 2021
