Ireland Lose To Finns, Scotland Win Again

Leanne Kieran rattled the underside of the crossbar but when Juuli Ketola’s header did similarly, it was adjudged to have crossed the line.

Eveliina Summanen put Finland 2-0 up and Jutta Rantala smashed home a brilliant strike into the far corner to put the result beyond doubt.

Niamh Prior gave the 932 Limerick crowd a moment to remember when her 35-yard free kick rocketed into the net with 3 minutes left on the clock. But Roma McLaughlin was dissmissed in injury time after receiving a second yellow card.

Meanwhile, Scotland thrashed Ukraine 5-0 having already qualified for the finals.

Carla Boyce and Erin Cuthbert scored in either half, with Chelsea Cornet netting inbetween.
