Ipswich Town Ladies Captain’s Pregnant Pause

Ipswich Town captain Aimee Harrison already has something to celebrate this season with a baby on the way, so will be mainly leaving it to her team-mates to make it a year to remember on the field.

The skipper had not featured in Town’s three competitive fixtures to date, all of which they have won; 3-1 at AFC Wimbledon, 1-0 at home to Stevenage in the FAWPL and 8-1 at Larkhall Athletic in the Premier League Cup.

Harrison told ipswichtownladiesfc.co.uk: “We’re really excited to finally announce our news. Ralph [Pruden] and the girls have been amazing and I plan to stay involved with the team as much as I can. I hope to return to the squad next season and bring my little mascot to all of the games.”

‘Amos’, who has been in the Ipswich fold since she was 10, took over the captain’s armband from Amanda Crump last season, and went on to lead her side to the third Suffolk FA Cup win in a row when beating Lowestoft Town 5-0 in the final at Colchester United FC.

The new member of the Ipswich Town Ladies’ family is due in March 2018.
