Inverness win 5-4 on opening day of Scottish Women’s Championship

The opening day in the Scottish Women’s Championship featured a nine-goal thriller as Inverness Caledonian Thistle edged Rossvale.

Inverness had trailed 2-1 Natalie Bodiam’s last minute winner, Morton saw off Ayr with doubles from Sara Paterson and Jacqui Seagrave.

Nicole Wilkie got a couple and SammyJo Smith the other as Renfrew made a winning start against Hutchison Vale, while  it ended goalless between Dryburgh and Livingston.

In League One, Falkirk and Westdyke egan with 4-2 away wins at Dundee West and BSC Glasgow respectively, Stenhousemuir took the points 3-2 at Giffnock.

Airdrie beat Gleniffer Thistle 2-1, St Mirren posting a similar result against Grampian.

FC Edinburgh drew the derby with Edinburgh Caledonia.
