How to watch England vs France: Euro 2025 TV Channel, Team News and Preview

See here how to watch England vs France, as the Lionesses begin their journey at Euro 2025 against a much-changed France team.

England vs France Preview

There will be more quality on display between England and France than arguably the entirety of some other groups at Euro 2025 this year, meaning matchday 1 could be an absolute cracker.

The Lionesses have been unstoppable in major competitions of late and after winning Euro 2022 they were denied only by Spain in the final at the World Cup one year later.

England’s impressive form has largely been down to the amazing Sarina Wiegman as the England boss has become one of the most beloved managers in English football history.

Wiegman is still yet to lose a game at the Euros in her managerial career, which includes two European Championship titles with the Netherlands (2017) and England (2022).

If England are going to win it all again this year though, things might be slightly more difficult.

The Lionesses are drawn in by far the hardest group at Euro 2025, with France, Wales and the Netherlands making for a competitive group stage.

France are another nation that has seriously improved under new management and Laurent Bonadei has been brutal with some of his changes to the setup.

Many were confused when Bonadei chose to drop Wendie Renard and Eugenie Le Sommer from his first squad, but it proved to be a smart move during the Nations League this year.

In the Nations League group stage, France didn’t drop a single point and they qualified for a semi-final against Germany later this year following six wins against Switzerland, Iceland and Norway.

In their two preparation games for the Euros, France also easily saw off Belgium and Brazil proving that they could be the real deal this year at Euro 2025.

England vs France Team News and Predicted Lineups

The England lineup could be very similar to the side that eased past Jamaica in a friendly at the end of June, with Lauren James likely to feature off the bench having only just made her return to the squad from injury.

England Predicted Lineup: Hampton; Bronze, Williamson, Greenwood, Carter; Stanway, Walsh; Mead, Toone, Hemp; Russo

Two huge names were omitted from the France squad this summer, with Wendie Renard and Eugenie Le Sommer both left out. In their places, Griedge Mbock and Marie-Antoinette Katoto are expected to deputise.

France Predicted Lineup: Peyraud-Magnin; De Almeida, Mbock, Lakrar, Bacha; Geyoro, Jean-Francois, Karchaoui; Diani, Baltimore, Katoto

England vs France Prediction

This could be one of the most exciting group stage games at Euro 2025 this summer, and there will be a serious amount of quality on display from sides which should set up for a close match.

Here at SheKicks, we think England may just be able to edge out their opponents on matchday one as Sarina Wiegman looks to maintain her unbeaten record in the Euros.

It’s hard to imagine the Lionesses thrashing France, but with one of the best squad’s in terms of depth at the tournament we think England can nick a win late in the day.

Prediction: England 2-1 France
