Hoops Win First Ever SWPL Game At Celtic Park

Celtic took an 18th-minute lead when Kirsty Howat tucked away the ball from close range and 2 minutes before the break the lead was doubled. Kerry Montgomery found Suzanne Mulvey and her strike went over Clare Johnstone and into the back of the net.

Moments after the restart and it was 3-0 and this time Montgomery got on the scoresheet herself to put the Hoops in a strong position.

Midway through the half, Rangers were given some hope though, Chantelle Brown’s cross into the box falling perfectly for Katey Turner, who lobbed the keeper.

But Celtic restored a three-goal advantage on 73 minutes, Stephanie Knox’s delivery resulting in a crisp volley into the top right corner for Howat’s second of the night.

The scoring was completed with 8 minutes to go, Christie Murray’s low shot creeping into the bottom corner of the Gers’ goal.
