#HomelessWorldCup kicks off in Cardiff

England and Wales both enjoyed opening day victories in their group games at the Homeless World Cup in Cardiff’s Bute Park on Saturday 27 July.

England lead the eight-team Group A table after a 12-1 defeat of Norway, Wales are second having beaten Northern Ireland 7-1.

Other games in the same group saw six-time winners Mexico edge Chile 3-2 and Austria score all four goals of the match with SFU.

Romania are narrowly the early leaders in Group B having recorded an 8-1 scoreline over Belgium, while Peru beat the USA 8-2.

India took the points against the Netherlands by six goals to two and Hungary hit Sweden 5-1.

The group games continue from noon on Sunday with the day’s first women’s match at 1pm.
