Chris Roberts has joined Bristol City from Hibernian as first team coach and technical director.
The Scot has been first team manager at Hibernian since 2014, having started there as assistant manager in 2010 to Willie Kirk.
The Vixens say that Roberts has three Scottish Women’s Premier League Cups to his name, as well as a wealth of experience in the development of new talent in Scottish football.
The 31 year old is also a qualified coach educator, tutoring children, youths and adults on the path to their coaching certificates.
In his 8 years as an educator he has helped more than 4000 coaches through their qualifications.
On joining the Vixens coaching team, Roberts said: “I’m delighted to be joining Bristol City Women.
“It’s a fantastic club with an exciting group of players and I’m looking forward to working with Willie Kirk again.
“The league has never been more competitive and City Women are a club on the ascendancy, I can’t wait to get going.”
Willie Kirk said on being reunited with his close friend once again: “I’m absolutely delighted to bring Chris to the club.
“We worked together for 3 years previously at Hibernian Ladies FC and during that time it was obvious that we complemented each other really well.
“This is a fantastic appointment for the club, he will be able to concentrate solely on his main football passions, which are coaching top level footballers every day and developing young players and coaches within an elite pathway.
“I’m sure it won’t take long for him to have a positive impact within our first team, SGS College programme and already successful Youth Academy.”
