Hibernian have signed midfielder Naomi Powell from Nottingham Forest, with whom she won the FA WNL Northern Premier Division and League Cup last season.
As a youngster with a keen eye for a difficult pass, Powell will look to make her presence known in Edinburgh with plenty of energy and creativity as she vies for a place in the starting XI.
Powell said: “I’m really looking forward to the new season, it’s a new experience. Especially being a part of this great club – the pioneers of football. The SWPL is a bit of a step up in terms of the level of play and the speed, and quality of the players, but I’m really looking forward to gaining experience, learning, but also leaving no doubt in terms of winning and trying to get to the top end of the table.”
Head coach Grant Scott commented: “We’re delighted to have Naomi join the club. In training and friendly matches over the past couple weeks she showed that she is a player with real quality, and she adds composure and consistency to our midfield.”
Hibernian Women General Manager, Chris Gaunt added: “It was quite evident when Naomi played in our pre-season games that she would not only handle the Scottish game, but also make us better.”
