Helen Seed: Blackburn Rovers Centre of Excellence star talks to Pass 4 Soccer about what lies ahead.

Where/When did you start playing football?
I first started playing football at home with my older brother in the garden and then joined the boy’s football team at primary school when I was 8 years old.

Which teams have you represented in the past?
The first team I played for was Preston North End Girls U10s. I’ve then gone on to play for:
Blackburn Rovers Girls Centre of Excellence from 2006-13 (U12s-U17s)
English Schools FA (U15s) in 2011 – the first ever English Schools Girls team
Lancashire Schools FA (U16s) 2010-12
English Colleges FA (U19s) 2012-13

Who is your favourite player and why?
Cristiano Ronaldo, because of his unpredictability and that he’s such a well-rounded player, bringing not just skill but speed, power and strength to the game.

What is your most memorable moment in Football so far?
Captaining Blackburn COE U-17s in the FA Womens Youth Cup final v Arsenal at MK Dons Stadium earlier this year.

What would you like to study at University?
A subject that can be combined with sport- possibly Biology or History

What make you want to study in the USA ?
America is so large and offers so many opportunities it would be brilliant to study over there. The facilities at the colleges are amazing, not just for sport but academically as well. To be able to study abroad with people not just from America but all over the world, would be a life changing experience.

The USA is over 3000 miles from Preston , how will you cope with this?
America is a long way away, but is it not totally foreign as I have been there a number of times before. It will be tough being so far from home, but I’ll make good use of Skype, Twitter and Facebook to keep in touch with friends and family. Hopefully I’ll be enjoying myself enough not to miss home too much!

Do you have any friends who are on soccer scholarships in USA ? If so, what have they said about it?
No but several friends are planning to study and play in the USA in the near future.

What are your career goals?
To play football at the highest level I can.

Assessment day on the 31st October. Players interested in heading to the USA in 2014 or 2014 should begin applying now!
