As part of Mental Health Awareness Week, England Women’s duo Carly Telford and Jordan Nobbs joined former players Karen Carney and Kelly Smith to discuss their mental health experiences.
The virtual roundtable saw the stars, with a combined total of over 300 international appearances, open up about their personal experiences of mental health and football, discussing how injury, criticism and bereavement impacted upon their mental health. They also discussed how the coronavirus pandemic is affecting their mental health, and the importance of kicking off a conversation during the difficult times.
Not everyone’s journey is the same.
