This week’s announcement of the dissolving of Kopparbergs / Göteborg FC women’s team sparked new interest, which will now see the Swedish champions carry on.
The club said they ‘did not expect … the large, overwhelming and positive interest from private individuals, companies and football associations to maintain the association’s elite activities.’
While still believing that Kopparbergs / Göteborg FC needs to be integrated within a larger organization for long-term competitiveness nationally and internationally, the club aim to have a solution ready in the spring.
This also means that the team will continue to play in the OBOS Damallsvenskan 2021 – and participate in the Champions League this autumn.
