Rangers recovered from having their keeper sent off to defeat Aberdeen after extra-time. Clare Gemmell put the ‘Gers in front but a late strike in the first half by Chloe Fitzpatrick meant the teams went in even. Jo Viollaz was red-carded on 85 minutes and Jenna Clark took over in goal but Gemmell headed in the decider 6 minutes into the added half-hour.

Edinburgh Caledonia and Granite City shared six goals in normal time, adding one each in the extra-half hour to force a shoot-out. Then began the Keren Lumsden show, as she saved all the penalties for City.

Holders Hibernian stormed into the last sixteen with an 11-0 mauling of Motherwell, in which substitute Lia Tweedie led the way with a four-goal haul. Rachel Small hit a hat-trick, Amy Gallacher bagged a brace, with singles from Abi Harrison and Lucy Graham.

Fellow Edinburgh side Hearts also notched eleven goals, with Tayside their victims and Kay Stevens taking advantage to score on her step up from the Development side.

Glasgow City – beaten finalists back in November – came through 5-0 at Spartans. Abbi Grant bicycle kicked Keeva Keenan’s cross home, with Jo Love, Sam Kerr and Noelle Murray adding one each by the break. Grant then completed her double on 64 minutes.

Stirling University’s Jade Gallon scored twice in the first period at Edinburh University Hutichoson Vale. Rachel Donaldson netted a free-kick to mark her last match after 14 years, while Jade Morris made it 4-0 in the second half.

Renfrew came from behind to win 7-1 at Deveronvale. Naomi Good got the first, Sammy-Jo Smith scored either side of a Karen Baillie goal, before Claire Rae weighed in with a treble.

Clare Docherty gave Kilmarnock the lead over Hamilton but the Accies hit back with four goals. Megan Quinn, Gillian Inglis, Deborah McLeod and Jordan McLintock all replied.

Sarah Ewens got half the tally in Celtic’s six at East Fife, with Suzanne Mulvey, Natalie Ross and Sarah Crilly.also scoring in the first 52 minutes. A hard afternoon for the hosts saw them have two players taken to hospital.

Blackburn United’s perfect season suffered a blip against Boroughmuir Thistle, the higher division visitors going away 2-1 victors.

Forfar Farmington went three up at Raith, on their way to a 5-2 result. Julia Scott and Kayleigh Brough got a couple each, Danni McGinley the other, while Tiegan Clark and Kerri Dinnell registered for Rovers.

Lesley Blair had Cumbernauld ahead until Falkirk forced an own-goal soon after the restart. However, Joanne Morrison restored the lead and Melissa Porter made sure of the Colts’ progress..

Jeanfield Swifts broke the deadlock against Westerlands with a 52nd-minute Rhianna Tweedie effort. Eilidh McIntyre doubled the advantage with a long range strike and made sure of the win with her second goal late on.

Elsewhere, Glasgow Girls got eight against Bishopston, Buchan hit Inverness City for six and Bayside bowed out 3-0 at home to Queen’s Park.
