Glentoran Women capture Northern Ireland keeper Jacqueline Burns

Glentoran have signed Northern Ireland goalkeeper Jacqueline Burns ahead of tomorrow’s big kick off in the Danske Bank Women’s Premiership.

The 23-year-old, who previously played for American college side Carson-Newman Eagles and has nine caps for Northern Ireland, could make her glens debut on Wednesday 26 August away at Cliftonville.

Burns said “I’m really excited for the move to the Glens! It’s going to be great to get back playing in the Premiership.

“Glentoran are a highly rated team and I feel that with the quality of players we have in the squad I think we can compete for the league title this year.”

Among several other signings by manager Billy Clarke is former Derry City captain Shannon Dunne.
