City, heading into their 9th successive European campaign and tenth in total, since their formation in 1998, are seeded in the draw thanks to an impressive run of results in the last few years, none more so than in 2014/15 when they reached the quarter finals.
Despite their seeding, City’s potential opponents are an impressive list, with some of the biggest names in the game a possibility. Previous opponents City have faced in the last few years such as Chelsea, FC Twente and Medyk Konin are all in the hat, along with big spending Manchester City, who like Chelsea, will be fancying their chances of going a very long way in the competition.
The draw will take place this Thursday at 12.30pm GMT at UEFA HQ in Nyon, Switzerland. City will be away for the first leg, with the home match a week later at the Excelsior Stadium on Thursday 13th October.
