The FSF Awards in association with Virgin Media were held last night (Monday 5th December) at the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel in London.
It was the first year that the FSF awarded a Women’s Player of the Year, with the shortlist compiled alongside none other than She Kicks, ahead of the public vote.
Players in contention were:Lucy Bronze (Manchester City), Karen Carney (Chelsea), Jordan Nobbs (Arsenal), Sari Van Veenendaal (Arsenal), Jane Ross (Manchester City) and Jill Scott (Manchester City).
The Netherlands goalkeeper was unable to attend the ceremony to collect the award but tweeted: ‘Wow, I’m so proud. Thank you so much!!’
