Former New Zealand WNT assistant manager Natalie Lawrence has taken on a similar role with Lewes FC Women.

She was with the Football Ferns during this year’s World Cup campaign and also their WU17 head coach and talent pathway manager.

Previously head coach of Wellington Phoenix, Lawrence also became the first female to lead a men’s national league side when she took charge of Team Wellington youth.

Lawrence told lewesfc.com: “It’s been great so far, I’ve settled in straight away, I’ve been introduced back to the British weather!

“It’s a great area, great facility [at Lewes], I got on really well with [manager] Scott [Booth] straight away, but the values of the club and the way they treat females was something that was a massive draw for me.
