Former Lionesses goalkeeper Carly Telford announces her retirement

Carly Telford has announced her retirement aged 35, her career having featured 27 caps for the Lionesses and several domestic trophies.

Telford had two spells with Chelsea, winning three WSL titles, two FA Cups and two League Cups among her honours with the Blues.

Telford was one of the first 17 female players to be given central contracts by The FA, made three World Cup and one Euro finals squads.

She started her senior career with Sunderland, while future clubs would include Leeds, Notts County, Perth Glory and San Diego Wave.
