Chelsea Ladies face Everton on Sunday (October 5) in a game which will go a long way to deciding if the Blues are crowned FA Women’s Super League champions for the first time in their history.
Emma Hayes’ side currently sit top of the table with two games to play, but with rivals Liverpool and Birmingham both facing difficult away tests, three points at home to Everton could prove enough for Chelsea to be crowned champions.
To celebrate what could prove a momentous afternoon at Wheatsheaf Park, there will be no charge for kids (under-13s must be accompanied by an adult) with adult tickets priced at just £5.
There will also be a number of money-can’t-buy prizes up for grabs on the day, exclusive giveaways and face-painters in attendance, while we will also give some lucky fans the chance to win free tickets for the game via Chelsea Ladies official Twitter account.
Chelsea Ladies defender Gilly Flaherty, who joined from Arsenal in the close season, has urged as many fans as possible to come along and cheer us to victory.
‘The more fans we get through the door the better,’ said Flaherty. ‘We are taking things one game at a time, but if the others slip up and we win then it will be a historic day for the club.
‘We are trying to bring some success to the club and if we can win the biggest prize on offer, then it will be an unforgettable afternoon, so get yourself along to Staines and cheer us to victory!’
Chelsea are currently one point clear of defending champions Liverpool and a further point clear of Birmingham as the title race reaches a dramatic climax. Chelsea’s final game sees then travel to Manchester City on October 12.
