Five Regional League sides extend winning starts

Arnold Eagles, Newhaven, Sunderland U-23s, Watford Ladies Development and Wythenshawe all continued their winning starts in the Regional Leagues.

EASTERN – Six of the best by Watford

Premier – Barking are up to fifth with the only goal of the game at Stevenage, Royston Town’s 6-1 win at Kings Lynn Town out them sixth, while St Albans City drew 1-1 with Bowers & Pitsea.

1 North –  Newmarket Town’s Katie Hayes scored twice when held 2-2 at home by Biggleswade United, Wootton Blue Cross won 2-1 against Stevenage Development.

1 South –  Watford Ladies Development defeated Cheshunt 4-0 to make it six wins from six, Southend United maintained the pressure with a 2-1 victory over Grays Athletic in which Chloe Woolaway bagged a brace. Wormley Rovers went fourth with a 2-1 success at Wodson Park, Lawford and Hutton shared six first-half goals on the way to a 4-4 draw.

League Cup 2nd Rd – AFC Dunstable progressed 3-1 past Fakenham Town, Mulbarton Wanderers knocked out Billericay Town Development 3-0.

EAST MIDLANDS – Five out of five for Arnold Eagles

Premier – Eden Pedersen’s struck twice in the opening nine minutes, in setting up a 6-0 win for Grimsby Town over Long Eaton United

1 Central – Arnold Eagles have five straight wins after getting all three goals at Loughborough Foxes Vixens, Nottingham Trent University’s 4-2 win at West Bridgford put them second, Notts County Development are fourth following a 1-0 result at Sherwood.

1 North – Gainsborough Trinity took over at the top when edging Retford 2-1 with a late Olivia Leslie goal. Dronfield Town downed Skegness Town 7-2 despite it being just 2-1 at the break, Grimsby Borough saw off Sleaford Town 1-0, Lincoln United Development’s Elise Gray was dismissed in a 6-0 defeat by SJR Worksop.

1 South – Northampton Town Development are new leaders after winning 6-2 at Newport Pagnell Town, Thrapston Town are second following an Amelia Boddington treble in their 4-2 victory at Nuneaton Borough. Kettering Town won 3-2 at Leicester City Ladies aided by an Abbie Brewin brace, while it ended 0-0 between New Bradwell St Peter and Stamford.

LONDON & SOUTH EAST – Newhaven open up 15-point lead

Premier – Ashford United’s 3-1 defeat of Crawley AFC featured a Rebecca Wyatt double, Dorking Wanderers put five past Aylesford.

1 North – Dulwich Hamlet Reserves hit top spot with a 2-1 win over Hackney, Actonians Reserves ran out 5-1 victors at Clapton. Ashmount Leigh substitute Laura Smith scored in a 2-1 win at Camden & Islington United,  Richmond Park had a fine 4-0 result against Whyteleafe.

1 South – Newhaven’s 7-0 sinking of hosts Welling United was their eleventh win on the spin, seven goals also at Hassocks who edged Montpelier Villa 4-3 to put their first points on the board. Steyning Town’s Sami Phillips contributed two goals to a 3-2 win at Bexhill United.

NORTH EAST – Six in six for Sunderland U-23s

Premier – South Shields stayed top with a 5-0 defeat of Harrogate Town, Sunderland West End are back up to second after getting the better of Bradford City 3-2. Wallsend BC won by the same score at Hartlepool United where Erin Donachie notched a double, Redcar Town’s Jessica Round did likewise in a 4-2 win over Hull United, Barnsley FC took the points 4-0 at Wakefield AFC.

1 North – Sunderland U-23s’ 5-1 defeat of Hartlepool Pools Youth was their sixth win in a row, Consett beat Norton & Stockton Ancients Reserves 3-0 with Stephanie Curry twice on target, Wallsend BC Reserves beat Bishop Auckland 4-2 and Chester le Street United claimed a first win 2-1 over Washington with a Lucy Bowman decider,

1 South – York City Development stayed goal-difference ahead of Ossett United in pole position with a 5-1 win over Farsley Celtic JFC Ladies, Ossett defeating Altofts 4-1. Harworth Colliery have their first points following Sophie Thompson’s four-goal haul in a 6-2 success at Ripon City. Millmoor hit hosts Sheffield United Foundation 6-1 and Chesterfield FC Women were 3-0 winners against Lower Hopton.

NORTH WEST – Match abandoned following dismissal

Premier – Blackburn CSC’s Katie Matthews struck twice as they leapfrogged hosts Curzon Ashton into fourth spot with a 4-2 result. Cheadle Town Stingers were 2-0 up against Salford City, who had a player sent off in the 55th minute, after which the referee abandoned the game.

1 North –  Accrington Stanley lead the table having beaten Carlisle United 2-0 with a Georgia Payton double, Preston North End are goal-difference behind after a 3-2 victory over Penwortham Town. Workington Reds won 5-2 against Radcliffe watched by 150 fans, Bolton Wanderers posted a 6-1 scoreline against Morecambe.

1 South – High-scoring Wythenshawe have nine wins from nine after thrashing Mossley Hill Athletic 13-2, with Chelsea Flanagan scoring six and Olivia Dixon five. Runcorn Linnets ran out 6-2 winners at Litherland REMYCA, Chester stung FC St Helens 5-0 away to take third place from them. Warrington Wolves put six past Northwich Vixens, Ellesmere Port Town went one better against Altrincham.

SOUTHERN – Five-goal Hussain is Penn hero

Premier – Ascot United opened up a five-point lead with Laura Spark’s second-half goal at Winchester City Flyers. Ellie White’s 94th-minute goal for Oxford City earned a draw against visitors Eastleigh, whose Amber O’Reilly had netted just before the break.

1 North – Henna Hussain scored five times as Penn & Tylers Green overcame leaders Kidlington 7-3, Long Crendon gained ground with a Tara Woodward double in their 3-1 win at Beaconsfield Town. Ascot United Reserves returned from Abingdon United Development 4-2 victors, Milton United drew 1-1 with Chesham United Development.

1 South – Bournemouth Sports Reserves were held 1-1 at home by Woking, Abbey Rangers scored five of the game’s eight goals at Fleet Town.

SOUTH WEST – Solloway treble secures St Austell win

Premier – AFC St Austell pipped Pucklechurch Sports 3-2 with a Lucy Solloway hat-trick, as the visitors missed a chance to go top. Forest Green Rovers had to settle for a 2-2 home draw with Bishops Lydeard.

1 East – Poole Town’s Lauren Kelly got three of their 13 goals at Ridgeway that put them six points clear. Two teams drew level on points with second-placed Stockwood Wanderers; Royal Wootton Bassett Town beat Purton 3-1 thanks to a brace by sub Rosie Burridge, Bath City’s Liberty Goater got the winner in a 2-1 result at Weymouth. Elsewhere, Frome Town’s Maisie Harris found the net twice as Shaftesbury were seen off 3-2.

1 North – Top-of-the table Weston super Mare only beat basement side Mangotsfield United with a single Viktoriia Khandusenko effort, SGS Olveston United also had a narrow win over Bristol Rovers Development with Marissia James their scorer, while Gloucester City beat St Vallier 4-1.

WEST MIDLANDS – Redditch Borough lead after derby victory

Premier – Kidderminster Harriers came away from Lichfield City with five unanswered goals, Shrewsbury Town overcame Crusaders 6-1 and Knowle beat Burton Albion 2-0 with a Nadia Bacciochi brace.

1 North – Walsall FC went third as Mia Fellows hit a hat-trick in the 7-2 sinking of Coventrians, overtaking Walsall Wood who ere held 2-2 at Coventry City, whose substitute Aimee Blakemore was on target.

1 South – Redditch Borough have the leadership following a 2-0 derby win at Redditch United, Rugby Town won 4-2 at Long Itchington led by a 20-minute treble from Chloe Debaes, Worcester City Development won 4-0 at Kingfisher.
