Wales got off to a good start and were ahead after only 8 minutes, as Georgia Evans capitalised on panic in the Northern Ireland defence to drive the ball into the net.
A clever turn from Laura Rafferty opened up space to shoot but Welsh keeper Laura O’Sullivan was equal to the effort.
But the equaliser did come in the 28th minute when handball was given in the area and Rachel Furness scored from the spot.
However, 6 minutes before the break, the ball fell to Fishlock on the right-hand side of the box and she lashed a half-volley into the roof of the net, to the delight of the 577-strong crowd. (Click here to see the goal)
The lead was extended 2 minutes into the second half, with Nadia Lawrence cutting the ball across for Natasha Harding to score.
The closest the visitors came to reducing the arrears was a long-distance effort from Furness that hit the side-netting.
While Fishlock became the first Wales international to win 100 caps, Angharad James clocked up her 50th appearance.
Both teams return to the Centre for Sporting Excellence in Ystrad Mynach for Friday’s 11am kick-off.
