FIFA Women’s World Cup Warm-ups: Ireland break attendance record

Republic of Ireland’s new record attendance of 7.633 at Tallaght Stadium saw them beaten 3-0 by France in a FIFA Women’s World Cup warm-up.

Kyra Carusa has the ball in the net early on for Ireland but was denied by an offside decision. Then in first-half added time France struck twice, Maelle Lakrar bundled the ball home for the opener and Eugenie le Sommer doubling the lead. Lakrar got her second after the hour mark.

Spain won 2-0 against Denmark, with Ona Batlle’s early goal added to by Salma Paralluelo.

After holding Italy to a goalless draw at the weekend, Morocco repeated that achievement away to Switzerland

China were 2-1 winners over the Football Union of Russia, Zhang Linyan’s early goal cancelled out by Veronika Kuropatkina, before Gu Yasha’s 54th-minute decider.
