He previously served as FC United’s assistant manager in 2012, but has more recently managed Preston North End, whom he guided to victory in the FA Women’s Premier League Plate in 2015.

“I feel privileged and very proud to have this opportunity. I know what FC United stands for as a club and also recognise the potential we can achieve in both league status and also within the local community. I’m just keen to get going and to meet with the squad on Wednesday.”
FC United of Manchester Head Coach Jay Astley, who managed the side to five victories out of six games since he stepped up to act as Interim Manager, has decided to leave the club.
