#FAWSL: Ten-player Man City Women draw at Man United

Ten-player Manchester City drew 2-2 away to Manchester United to end their losing run in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League.

United keeper Mary Earps made a flying save to deny Janine Beckie And Maria Thorisdottir headed a Lauren Hemp effort off the line but City had Georgia Stanway shown a straight red card for a foul on Leah Galton.

Despite the setback the visitors were soon ahead, Demi Stokes delivering and Khadija Shaw heading home.

Into the last 20 minutes, United turned the game in their favour with two quick goals. From a quickly taken corner, Ella Toone put the ball into the six-yard box and Lucy Staniforth flicked it in, Alessia Russo then netting from the edge of the area soon after.

Just seven minutes after conceding the lead, City were back on level terms through an Ellen White tap-in, Jess Park’s strike having been tipped onto the bar by Earps.
