League leaders Chelsea have a two-point advantage over Manchester City going into Wednesday’s fixtures, when Sunday’s Conti Cup winners visit Everton and the Cityzens head to a Bristol City side sitting just one point off the foot of the table.
Aston Villa are two points above the drop zone ahead of hosting Brighton, while basement side West Ham welcome Birmingham City whom they would leapfrog with a victory.
Friday sees a massive clash in the battle for the third Champions League place, Arsenal taking on Manchester United whom they trail by six points but with a game in hand and also a much better goal-difference.
