While Guiseley Vixens got off the foot of the Northern Division with an impressive victory at second-placed Leicester City WFC, Loughborough Foxes moved to within touching distance of the Midlands title.

Northern Division: Bianca treble sees Boro home
Middlesbrough just maintained a nine-point advantage at the top of the Northern Division, edging West Brom by the odd goal in five. Bianca Owens’ opener was quickly cancelled out by Nicole Dale and her second goal also brought a swift response from Gina Burton but her third on 82 minutes was decisive.
Blackburn hit Derby 6-2 to bank another three points in their title chase. Rovers rushed into a 3-0 lead with efforts by Natasha Flint, Lagan Makin and Lynda Shepherd, before Shannon Weston hit the crossbar for the Rams with the ball going in off goalkeeper Danielle Hill. Jess Holbrook made it 4-1 by the break, Shepherd and Makin both netted their second goals, with Kirsty Allen getting one back
Guiseley got off the foot of the table with a fine 3-2 success at Leicester City WFC, who drop to third. Jessica Heald and Emily Heckler both gave the Vixens the lead, Charlotte Greengrass scoring in-between. Bethan Davies saved a penalty before Heckler headed home the third, after which Paige Crossman got City’s second.
Huddersfield went second with a 2-0 win over Wolves, who sink to the bottom. Danielle Whitham fired the Terriers in front and the hosts secured the points from distance in added time.
Southern Division: Palace hold lead on Basildon
Crystal Palace came away from Cardiff 5-2 victors to hold onto the Southern top spot. Amy Green and Sarah Jones gave Palace a 2-0 lead before City halved the deficit. Gemma Bryan made it 3-1 and Ellie Stenning bagged a brace with the hosts getting the second in-between.
C & K Basildon stayed a point behind the Eagles with the only goal of the game against Coventry, Zoe Rushen finishing from an Ellie Manning pass.
Over 200 saw Lewes see off Gillingham 2-0, as Danielle Lane got both goals, the second three minutes from time.
West Ham hammered QPR 10-0 at home and moved up two places to sixth. Amber Stobbs, Chantelle Mackie, Kelly Wealthall and Ellie Zoepfl got first-half goals, Zoepfl and Stobbs went on to double their tallies, while Wealthall claimed a hat-trick. Rosie Kmita and Andria Georgiou also found the net for the visitors.
Midlands Division 1: Foxes close in on the title
Loughborough Foxes won 6-1 at Steel City where Laura Steele was twice on target, with one each for Chloe Young, Becky Matlock, Rebecca McGrother and Becky Knight. Burton tied 1-1 with second-placed Sheffield United, Hollie Barker’s goal for the Blades cancelled out by Jordan Atkin. Leicester City Ladies cannot now escape the bottom two, having gone down 12-0 at home to TNS, for whom there were nine different scorers. Sarah Jackson claimed a hat-trick, one apiece for Kimberley Bebbington, Phoebe Davies, Stacey Garnham, Katherine Huntbach, Lia Lewis, Laura Morris, Hannah Yates and Sara Bengtsson. Radcliffe and Solihull shared six goals, Brogan Jones and Beth Bailey (2) for Olympic, Abbie Taylor, Phillippa Harmison and Carly Davies finding the net for Moors. Long Eaton netted six at Rotherham, split equally between Jade Arber and Viki Adams.
Northern Division 1: Hope hits home for Hull
Hull extended their lead in Northern Division 1 to eight points with a single-goal success at Bolton, Hope Knight the scorer. Barnsley’s point from a 1-1 draw with Crewe lifted them out of the drop zone and pushed Newcastle into danger. Kristie Ward converted a penalty for the Tykes but Beth Ragdale headed The Alex level. Chester le Street continued their improved form with a 3-1 scoreline over basement side Mossley, Nichole Goundry-Havery, Sarah Burn and Anna Collin getting their goals.
South East Division 1: Plate finalists pile on agony
Luton climbed two places to fifth in South East Division 1, when thrashing long-suffering Haringey 14-0. There was a five-goal haul for Natasha Fensome, four for Jess McKay, two for Nicole Henman and singles from Dionne Manning, Zara Carroll and Funmi Babalola. Further positive news for The Hatters was that they will play in the Plate Final, as Fylde have been removed from the competition. Actonians are within two points of Cambridge United with a game in hand, after defeating them 1-0 away.
South West Division 1: Top two still unstoppable
Southampton WFC are four wins away from a perfect South West Division 1 season, as a double-figure defeat of Maidenhead made it fourteen straight victories. Emma Pinner led the way with four goals, Chelsie Hay hit a treble, there was a brace by new signing Vinnie Nkomo and one for Phil Holden. Plymouth also still have maximum points, an impressive 6-1 result at Keynsham was their eleventh win in a row. Tash Knapman struck four times, Amber Pollock and Katie Middleton once each, Kerry Bartlett having levelled for the home team. Southampton Saints went third with a 3-0 result at Larkhall and St Nicholas are off the bottom at Brislington’s expense, having beaten them 3-1 with a Rhian Robbins double and one from Adele Hooper.
