Stoke City won through to the FA Women’s National League Cup final with a 2-0 victory away to Milton Keynes Dons.

Stoke City struck twice in a six-minute spell early in the second half to defeat MK Dons 2-0 at Stadium MK, Abby Hunt opened the scoring and Hollie Gibson doubled the lead with a free-kick. Louise Naylor had the ball in the net for the hosts but her 73rd-minute finish was disallowed.

The Potters will play Sunderland or Southampton FC in the final on 19 April.

Solihull Moors doubled their points tally for the Division 1 Midland season so far with a notable 3-0 victory against mid-table Long Eaton United.

Aimi Beresford’s goal gave Brighouse Town a narrow win at Chorley, which pushed the Yorkshire side up into third spot in Division 1 North.

Southampton Women’s replaced rivals Southampton FC at the top of Division 1 South West when taking the points 3-1 at Swindon Town.
