#FAWNL: Wolves Women go top, Liverpool Feds cause cup upset

Wolves went top of the FA Women’s National League Northern Premier, Liverpool Feds put Fylde out of the Cup.

Northern Premier

Hull City 0-5 Wolverhampton Wanderers

An Amber Hughes double helped W0lves to a 5-0 victory at Hull City, which took them top of the table.

Bridgwater United 0-0 Gillingham (Att: 155)
Chichester & Selsey 2-1 Plymouth Argyle (Att: 55)
Milton Keynes Dons 0-0 Ipswich Town (Att: 120)

MK Dons held leaders Ipswich Town to a goalless draw, 0-0 was also the outcome between Bridgwater and Gillingham. London Bees beat Cardiff 5-1 after a 1-0 interval advantage, Chichester & Selsey scored from corners just before and after the break in defeating Plymouth.

AFC Bournemouth’s big win over Portishead cut Cheltenham Town’s lead to five points, with the Cherries having played two games fewer.

Liverpool Feds pulled off a cup shock at Fylde as Chantelle Thompson’s opener was added to in added time by Paige Cole. Crawley also did well to account for Oxford as Tash Stephens headed the only goal, while Southampton FC’s Katie Rood struck late on to eliminate Hashtag United.

Portsmouth 3-3 (aet) AFC Wimbledon (6-7 on pens)

Wimbledon let slip a 2-0 lead but eventually went through on penalties at Portsmouth, Sporting Khalsa progressed after extra-time at Leafield. Alnwick restricted Nottingham Forest to a late Charlotte Steggles winner and Cheltenham eliminated Exeter with a Lacy-Jai Liggett brace.
