Northern Premier – Black Cats knock Blackburn off the top
Sunderland replaced Blackburn as Northern Premier leaders after firing eight goals past Nottingham Forest. Keira Ramshaw’s hat-trick as well as goals from Bridget Galloway, Anna Young and Emily Hutchinson gave the Black Cats a 6-0 interval lead, with Hutchinson later doubling her tally and Faye Mullen also getting on the scoresheet.
Derby’s 2-1 defeat of Guiseley lifted them into second spot but they had to come from behind to beat the Vixens. Ellie Olds had the visitors in front but Cara Newton levelled and then set up Andi Bell for the winner.
Huddersfield came from 1-0 down at the break to win 4-3. Amy Hughes effort for City brought replies from Kate Mallin and Brittany Sanderson (twice), with Ashleigh Hayes and Cassie Hyde taking it to 3-3 before Lucy Sowerby got a stoppage-time winner.
Southern Premier – Coventry extend lead, Chichester go second
Coventry went four points clear in the Southern Premier with a 4-0 win in the top of the table clash with Watford. Amber Hughes and Chenise Austin scored in the first 45, Maz Gauntlett and Amy Wathan netting after the interval.
Chichester went second on goal-difference after edging winless QPR 3-2 away from home. Hollie Wride, Jade Widdows and Cherrelle Khassal found the net for City, Jo Wilson replied before the break but Chontele Lawrence’s goal from a free-kick came deep into added time.
Midlands Division 1 – West Brom go level with leaders
West Brom fell two goals short of taking back the Midlands Division 1 leadership from Wolves with a 3-0 scoreline at Sporting Khalsa. Long Eaton went level on points with Bedworth after becoming the first side to take points off them in a 2-1 win, Millie Fulgar and Laura Sears their scorers. Birmingham & West Midlands went third despite a 2-2 tie at Burton, who lost Charlotte Worth with ankle ligament damage and Gina Rushton with a bad neck whiplash injury.
Northern Division 1 – Brighouse top on goal-difference
Burnley lost their Northern Division 1 pole position as Brighouse took a point in a 2-2 draw with Chorley. Newcastle won 2-1 at Liverpool Feds, Leeds jumped three places to fifth with a similar outcome at Chester le Street and Crewe’s Meg Booth scored twice but they still failed to get off the mark against Barnsley who edged them 3-2.
South East Division 1 – Battling Billericay go first
All the goals came in the first half as Billericay twice battled back to eventually beat Enfield 3-2 and replace Crawley Wasps as South East Division 1 leaders. Molly Peters and Jodie Southby had the visitors ahead but Zoe Rushen’s hat-trick was decisive.
AFC Wimbledon leapfrogged Stevenage into seventh when defeating them 2-1 away, Rebecca Sargent and Katie Stanley scoring for the Dons.
South West Division 1 – Southampton WFC hit summit
The South West Division 1 top spot also saw change, with Southampton WFC’s 5-0 success at Larkhall seeing them oust Keynsham. off the top. Jane Yeates got a treble, Emma Pinner and Kayleigh Tonks one apiece. Chesham got the only goal of the game against Swindon in the first half.
Plate 2nd Round – Keynsham eliminate Pompey
Keynsham eliminated Southern Premier side Porsmouth from the Plate, overcoming a 1-0 deficit to go through 2-1. Kerry Bartlett cancelled out a Katie James effort but Ellie Curson struck in added time.
MK Dons progressed with a 3-0 result at Brislington, Leah Littlechild and Leah Cudone will early goals, Alice Hughes wrapping it up before half-time.
Middlesbrough coasted through 6-0 at hosts Solihull Moors.
The draws for the next rounds of the Cup, Plate and Reserve Cup will be made on Monday
