London Bees 1-2 Southampton FC (Att: 53)

Southampton are now within seven points of leaders Ipswich Town and three points of second-placed Oxford United – with three games in hand on both – following Wednesday’s win at London Bees. Lucia Kendall and Alisha Ware scored in quick succession to give the Saints a 2-0 lead after a dozen minutes, the Bees pulling one back through Jo Wilson six minutes into the second half.

Division 1 North

Bradford City 3-1 Barnsley (Att: 110)
Stockport County 4-2 Leeds United

Stockport jumped three places to fifth with victory over third-placed Leeds at Edgeley Park. Emma Lyons, Jess Battle and Maria Figueirdo all scored for a 3-0 interval lead. Kanisha-Mae Underdown’s penalty and a long-range Sarah Danby strike in the last quarter of an hour made for a tense finale but Libby Dixon netted County’s fourth to seal the win.

Bradford City’s 3-1 win over Barnsley lifted them seven points clear of the relegation zone but left the Tykes three points from safety. Hope Knight gave the Bantams the lead against the run of play, Jodie Michalska equalised after the interval but Amy Beck restored the advantage and set up Charlotte Stuart to complete the scoring.
