Coventry United were denied their first FA Women’s Championship win of the season when Bristol City levelled eight minutes from the end.
Rio Hardy held off the challenge of two defenders on the edge of the box, to slot the ball across goalkeeper Sophie Whitehouse and in off the far post, giving the hosts the lead going into the break.
United had the ball in the net a second time soon after the restart but this time Hardy was denied by the flag for offside.
Bristol City got their equaliser when Chloe Bull’s shot from the edge of the area came back off the bar and Abi Harrison was on hand to thump the rebound into the back of the net.
The draw gave Coventry their second point of the campaign, while the Robins now have eleven – the same as Sheffield United and Sunderland – in an incredibly tight mid-table.
