FAW Women’s Cup Round-Up

Airbus had the narrowest win in the Welsh Cup 1st Round after scoring a 90th-minute goal at Northop Hall, while at the opposite end of the scale Llandudno’s Mari Gibbard netted six of her own.

Airbus UK went through 2-1 at Northop Hall thanks to Emma Parry’s last-minute goal.

Gemma Jones scored in either half as Llanfair won 2-0 at Denbigh.

It was 2-0 also for Barry Town at home to Penybont, first-half goals coming from Chelsea Deacon and an Ellen Phillips header.

Cardiff Met hit Caldicot for six with three of those from Naomi Clipston.

Rhyl ran out 5-0 winners over Amlwch with Emma Roden twice on target.

Aberystwyth posted a similar result over Merthyr, in which Tania Wylde grabbed a double.

Llandudno’s Mari Gibbard hit a half-dozen as Corwen were crushed 13-0 by their WPWL hosts.

Tredegar had it tough too at home to Cardiff City FC, who stormed through 11-1 after Lucy Hill had levelled for the hosts on 20 minutes. Hannah Daley, Danielle Green and Alana Murphy each registered twice for the Bluebirds.
