JOB TITLE: Performance Analysis Officer (Women & Girls)
Location: Dragon Park, National Football Development Centre, Newport, NP19 4RA
Accountable to: Head of Performance Analysis
Responsible for: Providing performance analysis support to the FAW Trust technical department and Football Association of Wales women’s and girls’ national squads.
Hours of work: Full Time

BACKGROUND TO THE ROLE
The performance analysis department within the FAW Trust provides an analysis support service to the Football Association of Wales (FAW) National Squads as well as analysis support to the player development and coach education programmes of the FAW Trust.
The successful candidate will work across all programmes as directed by the Performance Analysis Manager.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
• To provide on-camp analysis support to the FAW & FAW Trust women’s & girls’ national squads;
• To code and maintain a database of national squad matches;
• To code and edit opposition matches for national squads;
• To prepare video presentations for use on squad camps as directed by the squad Managers;
• To manage & update an on-line video & communication platform for national squads;
• To develop contemporary resources for inclusion in training and education programmes for coaches and players;
• To maintain and organise performance analysis equipment (hardware & software);
• To liaise with universities to recruit & manage student analysts via a structured work-placement programme
• To undertake additional analysis support work across all programmes when required and as directed by the Performance Analysis Manager;
• To undertake a programme of continued professional development.
QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
• Undergraduate degree in Performance Analysis, Sport & Exercise Science or related subject
• Demonstrable experience in providing performance analysis support in women’s/girls’ football
• Previous experience of utilising Sportscode, Nacsport and/or similar analysis software
• Comprehensive understanding of video analysis technology and software applications
• Good understanding of contemporary coaching practice
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Modern and innovative working practices
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to be self-directed and work on own initiative
• Appropriate IT competencies (both Mac & Windows platforms)
• Good written and presentation skills
• Willingness and availability to work unsociable hours
• Full, clean driving licence and access to own vehicle with business use insurance
DESIRABLE
• Previous experience of managing analysts and/or student analysts
• Masters degree in Performance Analysis or related subject
• Previous experience of using Team Performance Exchange, Globallcoach & Chyron-Hego Paint
• Professional accreditation as a performance analyst
• UEFA B Licence
• The ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh
The successful candidate will be required to travel extensively in Wales and abroad.
The successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced CRB disclosure through the Football Association of Wales.

A copy of ‘USA v Japan (Women’s World Cup Final, 2015) is available to download HERE
You are required to analyse the performance of USA both in and out of possession (including transitions) and present your analysis in the form of a video presentation (15 min maximum duration).
You do not need to analyse set pieces.
Do not source further matches. Please base your analysis on this match alone.

Stage 2
• Successful candidates from Stage 1 will be invited to interview on 27th, 28th or 29th March 2017 (TBC).
Stage 3
• Successful candidates from Stage 2 will be invited to attend one of two squad training camps on 11th-14th of April or 18th-21st April 2017.
An appointment will be made shortly after completion of Stage 3.
