Famous Boys’ Club Urging Mums to Get Kicking

Wallsend Boys Club – the club that developed Peter Beardsley, Alan Shearer, Steve Bruce, Michael Carrick and Lee Clarke among others and are starting a girls’ section – are running the first ever ‘Mams Challenge Cup’ in association with girls’ football week and want you to be part of it!

They want to see mothers, aunties and sisters playing football to raise money for Coping with Cancer. Oh and we hear that there may even be have some grandmas playing!

Details below:

Only one experienced player is allowed per team because the tournament emphasis is on having fun, increasing awareness of women’s football and hopefully finding a love for football yourself! The football bug has already begun to spread with the ‘mams’ at Wallsend BC and they’re hoping to get even more ladies involved.

‘The Mams Challenge Cup’ is kicking off on Friday 14th October at North Shields Powerleague at 6pm.

Please email Emma at [email protected] for a registration form and more details if you would like to be part of this!
