Sheffield United have signed 28-year-old Ashley Hodson from Liverpool for whom she made over 100 appearances.
She spent last season on loan at Birmingham City where she played a key role in the team’s promotion push, also helping Liverpool earn promotion back to the WSL in 2022.
Hodson said: “I’m really excited. I can’t wait to get going for the new season and to look forward to pre-season now.
“I think my experiences in the past and two years in this league I think I can bring a lot to this team and hopefully help the other players and help some of the younger players develop. I saw how well Jonno did with the team at the end of last season and I thought that was really impressive and I had a great conversation with him.”
Head coach Jonathan Morgan said: “Ash brings a lot of natural experience with what she’s done in the game already. I think if you look
at her style of play that she naturally gravitates to, it completely fits the style we are looking to implement next season.
“She works hard, she has an eye for goal, good around the dressing room and I haven’t heard a bad word about her from previous clubs. For me, she brings a cutting edge in the attacking third.”
