Everton leapfrogged Tottenham Hotspur in the Barclays Women’s Super League table as the hosts’ defeat was made worse by a late red card.

The last game in the league before the festive break brought a 3-0 win at Brisbane Road for the Toffees, as they end the year in sixth, while Spurs slipped to eighth.

Everton were ahead just eight minutes in, when Nicoline Sorensen crossed for Katja Snoeijs to finish well.

The visitors were gifted their second before the break, as Jess Park took the ball off goalkeeper Becky Spencer when she attempted to dribble it out.

Ashleigh Neville was shown a straight red card for her dangerous tackle in the 90th minute on Gio, who then rounding off the scoring in stoppage-time.
