Eniola Aluko Extends Chelsea Contract

Eniola Aluko has been at Chelsea for four years since rejoining in 2012, after her one year spell at the club from 2007-2008, in this time she’s proved a vital part in Chelsea’s success.

Scoring 54 goals in 125 appearances Aluko was integral to last year’s FA Cup and WSL title wins, so for the Blues to get her signature on a new deal is good news for the club and fans.

The forward tells the club website that “when Emma Hayes became the manager, I really believed this was a team that would be successful. And we have been.

“I’m continuing to learn, to grow and I continue to be challenged every day. I love this team. That combination of reasons made it an easy decision”

Emma Hayes is happy to have extended her striker’s contract saying “she’s a competitor, a serial winner and someone who wants to continue winning year after year. She’s the calibre of player we want at this club”.

Eniola Aluko and teammates will be travelling to Manchester this weekend to face the team threatening Chelsea’s title. Three points for the West London side will keep the title race on, so it should be a juicy one, and maybe Aluko’s new contract will give the Blues a little extra ammunition for the clash.
