English Schools FA U-15 squad preparations

Miranda Hall and Sarah Steadman, the England U-15 Schoolgirl coaches, are looking forward to the upcoming season after the conclusion of regional trials.

The England U-15 schoolgirls’ national team have been holding trials over the past few weeks, with the Northern section taking place at Repton School, Derbyshire, on December 15th and the Southern event at Chigwell School on 16th December. The final selection game, Northern trialists v Southern trialists, will take place on 19th January at Lilleshall National Sports Centre.

The two coaches, Miranda and Sarah, will be casting their eye over the potential talent, while the English Schools FA (ESFA) international selectors will also be in attendance.

The selected squad have an extremely exciting season ahead with the focal point being the home nations Bob Docherty tournament in Northern Ireland in April.

There will be a training camp for the squad and a friendly at the brand new St George’s Park in Burton, before the final squad depart for the tournament, where the Welsh, Scottish, Irish and Northern Irish countries will bring their Girls’ national squads to complete along with a guest European country.


Sarah Steadman, the team manager said, ‘I am really excited about this season and the excellent opportunities those selected will experience. This season will see the England Schoolgirls provision progress, starting with the girls playing at the new St George’s Park.’

Players are nominated through their County Schools’ FA’s as they must represent the county in order to be applicable to trial. Alternatively, those players who do not have a county representative side will have the opportunity to be nominated through their schools.
