England Women’s U-23s were 4-1 victors in a friendly against Belgium, watched by a 1,300-strong crowd at Prenton Park.
The visitors had to make some last-ditch challenges before the Young Lionesses took a 16th-minute lead, as Aggie Beever-Jones played through Missy-Bo Kearns to slot home past Lisa Lichtfus.
Belgium drew level in the 27th minute, when Shari van Belle picked out Marie Minnaert to fire past Kayle Rendell.
England retook the lead less than ten minutes after the interval, Beever-Jones sending Angela Addison through on goal to lift the ball over the keeper.
Lichtfus palmed away a Poppy Pattinson effort only for Anna Patten to finish from close range, while Rendell saved well to deny Lisa Petry.
Kearns hit the crossbar in the 87th minute, before Kiera Skeels nodded home Pattinson’s free-kick.
