England Women’s U-19s put five past Sweden

England U-19s were 5-1 winners over Sweden on Friday afternoon in their second match at the Algarve Tournament in Portugal.

The Young Lionesses flew into a 2-0 lead in only 8 minutes, Araya Dennis opening the scoring when a corner was only half cleared, before Poppy Pritchard was sent clear to also find the net.

Freya Godfrey got the third after half an hour via a Keira Flannery free kick, Pritchard then soon doubling her tally when receiving a pass from Dennis and rounding goalkeeper Tilda Torstensson.

Pritchard was denied a first-half hat-trick by the post, Ida Bjornberg pulled a goal back seven minutes into the second half.

Mia Enderby restored the four-goal advantage near the end, Ava Baker hit the crossbar.
