England Women U-23s came from behind with two goals in a six-minute spell during the first half to beat Belgium 2-1 in Spain.

Davinia Vanmechelen curled a shot home from outside the box in only the third minute, the Young Lionesses getting level after a handball in the box and Missy Bo Kearns converting at the second attempt.

Izzy Goodwin then made it three goals in as many games for her country, when turning in a cross from Freya Godfrey.

Belgium goalkeeper Jorijn Covent made another penalty save after the break from Kearns, after Georgia Mullet was tripped inside the area.

The crossbar came to England’s aid in added time, as Belgium went close to an equaliser.
